What is a RPL?

Recognition of Prior Learning (or RPL) is a legitimate part of the VET sector and the Australian education system.

Performed well, it recognises skills built from experience and provides a robust framework to ensure people can have their skills recognised.

Individual competency-based assessment must be undertaken by qualified assessors including to identify training required to fill gaps in a person’s knowledge and skills to meet the requirements specified in a training package.

Curriculum Vitae

Save Time

RPL is known to save your time as you do not have to study subjects that you already have experience in.

Save Money

RPL is up to 75% cheaper than studying, as you’re assessed on experience rather than being taught.

Save Effort

RPL eliminates the extended stressful exams and assignments. Therefore, it requires less effort.

How RPL can elevate your workplace

Recognition

Recognising employees boosts motivation and retention by making them feel valued. Providing nationally recognised qualifications further encourages productivity and strengthens long-term commitment.

Retention

A proactive training and development strategy not only helps retain current employees, but also reduces turnover and lowers recruitment costs by strengthening skills internally.

Recruitment

Offer career development as part of your compensation package to attract potential employees. This also helps you reach candidates with the right skills but no formal qualification.

Regulation

RPL helps employees meet regulatory requirements by validating their competence through a formal qualification. It covers sector-specific accreditation standards and training obligations.
